One day while I was serving as an usher during the worship service at Christ Fellowship, this beautiful lady caught my eye and I noticed every week she always sat around the same section. My brother noticed that I was interested in her and asked me “Why don’t you ask her out for coffee?” But I was way too shy and I said to him “It’s just not the right time.” Plus I thought she was too young for me and she wouldn’t be interested in someone like me. So I just kept watching her and praying to God every time she came and sat in the area where I was ushering. I asked God to make it known to me if she was the one He had for me. The one that I have been waiting years for. I wanted to know for sure so I could begin getting to know her and possibly start building a relationship with her.
On a Sunday after church, my brother introduced me to her. We met briefly, but we didn’t talk much that day . I felt she wasn’t interested . She seemed too young and so beautiful that it probably would not work. Two weeks later she stopped me to say hello and talk. Then I knew she was interested. I took things real slow because I was shy, and I didn’t know how to start a relationship with such a beautiful Christian woman. So every week at church I would come up to her, say hello, and talk for a bit. I got to know her, but it took me almost a year to give her my number. I didn’t want to seem forward by asking her for personal information too soon. I invited Debbie to take some salsa classes with me and she accepted. We finally met at the dance studio and on the second day of classes, I asked her out on our first date to a little sushi restaurant in Coral Gables. Six month later I proposed and she said yes. This is the short version of how God made my dreams of meeting the most beautiful, patient, understanding, loyal, honest , talented, sweet, smart, Christian woman come true.
